Land Back, 2026

Paper Collage on Bristol Paper

11 in x 14 in (27.94 cm x 35.56 cm)

Land Back is an ode to the reclamation of land under Indigenous stewardship and sovereignty. In this work, flowers bloom insistently from the seams of highways and roads; they bloom regardless of the impositions of the modern infrastructures. These blooms deliberately coexist with our constructed world and imagines the the harmony within it. The work honors Indigenous relationships to land attuned to care and the rhythms of the earth. Land Back builds a world where sovereignty is both political and ecological through a lived practice of coexistence.
