Veneration of Rage, 2026

Paper Collage on Bristol Paper

11 in x 14 in (27.94 cm x 35.56 cm)

A young Angela Davis sits atop what was once a monument to a Confederate soldier that has been rightfully dismounted and defaced. The graffiti across its surface expresses the collective rage toward the memorialization of violent American institutions, whether it be the Confederacy or our modern policing system. The continued adoration of America’s white supremacist past and present WILL be replaced by people, like Davis, who will bring forth alternative regenerative systems not rooted in systemic genocide. At the base of the monument, a disembodied hand lays a flower, venerating the collective rage that reminds us of our humanity and will guide us as we build new worlds.
